WE WORK

Our History

Founded in 2019, the International Alliance of Professional Dance Schools (IAPDS) was created to support a shared commitment to advancing professional dance education through the exchange of information, resources, and ideas.

The Alliance first established its presence through a project that created, in consultation with company directors, a set of consistent content guidelines for audition pre-selection packages for companies and post-secondary programs.

The Alliance continued its collaborative work with several major competitions, providing recommendations on age-appropriate classical variations and the use of pointe work.

Since its founding, the Alliance has grown to over thirty endorsing organisations, including leading companies and dance schools from around the world.

In 2025, the Alliance marked an exciting evolution. With support from the Rudolf Nureyev Foundation, a new interactive web platform for endorsing organisations will create even more opportunities for collaboration and community across the network of professional dance schools.

Our alliance boasts 30+ endorsing member organizations!
